Miracles don’t happen “Pre-maturely”!

Dear Saints of the Living God – Grace and Mercy to you and your family!

Acts 16: 26 says, “Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed”

There are several miracles in the bible that are recorded to have happened at Midnight… if that’s the case, what is so special about this one…

If we read couple of verses earlier, nothing went well for Paul and Silas.   In fact, everything started to go bad, after they have gone to a prayer meeting outside the city.   Lot of times, we expect miracle to happen, or the problems don’t happen around the believers.   Even when Jesus was preaching, he talked about the rain come pouring down – on both the man who built the house on the rock and the one, who built it on the sand.

Here is the background, there was a girl, who was demon possessed and kept following Paul, wherever he went in the city… she was annoying Paul, and knowing who is causing the trouble, he speaks to the enemy to leave from her body… all this sounds good, right?  No, there were people benefiting from the bad spirits, through her fortune-telling, and they take Paul and Silas to the magistrate and have them beaten and put into the inner most part of the prison.

Sometimes, when the things go this bad, we look for an immediate relief – Paul could have argued and gotten out of the whole thing, but he didn’t. I don’t know what you are going through this morning – you could be stressed and strained over something happened to you in the last couple of days, or your marriage could be rocking and shaking, or mentally and physically tired over a battle, the enemy could be attacking your very core belief – but know this, there is a precedence set by Paul and Silas in this chapter…

The miracle didn’t happen, because they were beaten and put into the prison, it happened because in spite all the things that went wrong, Paul and Silas were rejoicing in the Lord in the middle of their mishap. I was even thinking, how could they rejoice when they were chained… and have no strength left behind?   They knew the Kingdom of Heaven will break open, and that the Lord will show up…

Even in my own personal life, when I have been cornered in every angle, with no way out… and as I cry in my dire state, slowly but surely, He would turn my cry in to praise and worship… I have seen the problems melt away and the mountains move, the red sea split and the walls of Jericho come down.   I don’t know, if you are in the inner court of the prison, but my God will cause the heaven and earth to break just because of you.

Sometimes, we don’t have patience and we want the Miracles to happen in our time, but the Lord will not allow it, unless we come to the place where He can bless.   If we do things in a hurry, we might end up giving birth to Ishmael, and pay for the rest of our life…

This is where the verse that we meditate starts… “Suddenly”, the earth shook up – and the foundations were shaken… do you know why?   We worship the Savior, who is the King of kings and the Lord of lords – and He will go to the ends of the earth to bring the resources together…

Know this,  the miracle didn’t happen at 11:59, but at 12. Trust in the Lord, always… There is nothing impossible for Him… He never shows up early nor late…

Even the very thing that you are going through will pass, and come crashing down… Rejoice in the Lord, as Paul writes – Again, I say Rejoice…   God will not allow the Miracle to happen “Pre-maturely”… It will happen in due time!

Praise the Lord…
