I am “Redeemed!”!

Dear Saints,   Grace and Mercy to you and your family!

It is beautiful to come back to this morning meditation – Thanks for being patient…

These days, we are meditating on Ephesians 1… where Paul writes about the “Every” spiritual blessings in heavenly places.

When I read the verses from 3 to 14 – in Ephesians 1,  it made no sense – it was like jumbled up words… and didn’t want to leave this – unless the Lord unpacks them… and the journey began – and now, it is has been 3 beautiful weeks – and cannot leave this verse – and has so much to say about how I should be living today, and enjoying every bit of it.

Today morning  – I want pick back on verse 7 and the 1st portion of verse 8:

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace  that he lavished on us.

The term “Redemption” may be known among the people in the Christian circle, because of how we hear from the pulpit, time to time –  but really, it is not a common term used in the secular world or the market place.

This is not the case, for the people in the 1st century…

It was a common term, used in the slave market… across the entire Roman empire… they were buying and selling slaves like furnitures.  60 Million Slaves were there in the market! Redemption referred to, the release of a slave upon paying the debt in full.

Redemption was an impossible task as well – the very fact, some one appears on this place is because they are not able to pay their debt.    When someone says, “they are redeemed” – that means, they are debt is completely wiped.

You many say, why is this important for us today  — right?

Bible has been associating “Sin” to slavery again and again.   We may not be doing humongous mistakes, but if we scroll through our heart, we will find ourselves entertaining from time to time – “Pet Sins”.     That’s right…    In the book of Romans 3:23 – Paul says,  “For ALL have sinned and fallen short of glory of God”

Sin demands ransom/payment/life…   and that’s what necessitated “Jesus dying on the rugged cross, to release us from the bondage of sin!” – the schemes of the devil is silenced!   he cannot go before the  Lord, and accuse us any more… the Judge will dismiss the case, because He sees the lamb sitting on the right hand of the father, making an argument on your and my behalf.

We will pick up on the Blood – and its importance next, but I want to celebrate the fact, that I am redeemed!

This morning  – as I was brushing my teeth, I heard this song… and the tears started flowing…

Jesus paid it all
All to him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow
He washed away

And when before the throne
I stand in him complete
Jesus died my soul to save
My lips shall still repeat

Jesus paid it all
All to him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow
Oh He washed
Yeah He washed it white as snow

I don’t know what is going on in your life… but if you feel weak in your spirit, or heaviness in your soul – know this for sure, there is nothing more that we can do to earn the place in heaven – it is all FINISHED!

One time, there was a reporter asked Rev. Billy Graham,  if he will go to heaven – because of the 1000’s of preaching and countless people giving their lives to Christ – and here is how Rev. Billy Graham answered…

“I [will] not go to heaven because I am a preacher. I am going to
heaven entirely on the merit of the work of Christ.”

That’s right, we don’t have to add any more to the finished work of Jesus, which was in the works from the beginning of the time –  to rescue us from the clutches of the enemy,  and redeem us to eternity!

Praise the Lord!
