Tell satan… “to go to hell” (Part 1)

Dear Saints of the Living God… Blessings to you and your family.

Yesterday as I was driving, heard an incident that happened, where a man sold a bowl for $3, and the person who bought the item kept them in his living and someone told him, that it looks very expensive and so he took the bowl to the appraiser and found out that the bowl is worth millions of dollars…

The person who sold the bowl, was happy getting the $3 for what he sold… he didn’t go to an appraiser to value the bowl… he didn’t even know the value what he had..

You know there are days, when we wake up in the morning and grab a coffee, we might think, what am I doing… it doesn’t look like I am accomplish anything – and start to value our worth… it is very natural – but you know what, we have an appraiser, and to Him, we are worth much more… in fact, He has valued us so much that He died as a replacement for the appraised value…

From time to time, I see the enemy tries to challenges our path – and we get attacked in areas that we have left a hole or in some cases soft spots get affected.   This meditation is going to be about finding strength in those moments, because the bible says, “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world”.   We need to be standing on these promises, at one time Jesus sends 70 disciples out to minister and when they come back from the field, here is what Jesus said, “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you”; We are given the authority over this enemy, “the gates of hell cannot prevail over the children of God”.

in fact, I am wondering, if we are giving way too much credit to the enemy in our life… and it is about time for us to tell him to go to hell… you see, he cannot create anything – there is only Creator and He has done it all… the enemy uses the old ways, to trap us again and again, but if we have overcome his schemes one time, we can repeat the same, and he will flee from us.

Bible says, Resist the devil and he will flee from you and so let us meditate on what are some of the practical ways to tell the devil to go to hell…

Standing on the Promises of God

Recently, some of our leaders were getting affected in various corners without a cause and so I reached out to the Pastor who is running the underground church in the middle east to pray for us and of course, he said, his church will be praying for us – but he also asked me to tell all the leaders to read Psalms 91, and it is a beautiful chapter, and if you are down in spirit – that’s one chapter that you can memorize and speak, when you sense the attack of the enemy. But then he asked everyone to pick the last paragraph in that chapter and asked it to personalize… when we pray…

Here is how the original set of verses go…

“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”
And wherever we find the him or he, to replace them with our name… here is an example…

“Because <<Mark>> has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver <<Mark>>;
I will set <<Mark>> on high, because <<Mark>> has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer <<Mark>>;
I will be with <<Mark>> in trouble;
I will deliver <<Mark>> and honor <<Mark>>.
16 With long life I will satisfy <<Mark>>, And show <<Mark>> My salvation.”

That’s a promise… and we need to stand on it.   The pastor wanted the leaders to read this chapter at least once a day (and I believe it applies to all of us)… and stand on the promises of the Lord using the last paragraph.   The truth is, faith doesn’t grow in adversity, but in reading the word of God.   We need to memorize the word of God and keep them close to our heart.   One of the things that I have started to do these days is – have an index card, with a verses written … and leave them in my desk and every moment that I have few minutes to soak myself in the Lord, then these words are in my close proximity.

I was very humbled when this pastor visited Charlotte, from middle east, where they are persecuted for openly proclaiming the faith – and when I asked him how do you carry the bible around – in other words, won’t you get caught if you carry the bible, and he said – they don’t carry the bible, instead they have memorized chapter after chapter – and wherever they need to speak the word, they verbalize them.   Isn’t that amazing… I am praying every day for the Lord to put the same thirst and hunger for the God’s word.

  1. Word of their testimony

Revelation 12 says, “And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.”

You see in this verse, the Lord is talking about 2 things that allowed the children of God to overcome the enemy… 1. The blood of the lamb… that’s given to everyone of us – the Lord has paid the price on the cross and we have safe haven under His blood.   Every time we pray over people, use the blood of the lamb to sanctify the place and the person that we are praying for.   The song writer used this verse, when this powerful song was written…

“There is power, power, wonder working power In the blood of the lamb; There is power, power, wonder working power In the precious blood of the lamb.”

The blood of the lamb has sealed them all… the enemy is afraid of the blood… he knows his tomb stone is written, and the bottomless pit waiting… that’s what the blood of the lamb means to the enemy.

But there is one more thing that we have at our disposal, which is nothing but the word of our testimony. We all have tasted the love of Jesus and have a testimony to share, the enemy can dispute everything… even when it comes to the word of God, the interpretation may vary from person to person – but when we stand up and give a testimony, you and I are telling this is what the Lord has done for me – how can anyone dispute that, It is a fact…   Recently, I received the copy of the police report from San Leandro police station (in California) about the incident that happened in 1994, it is a proof of what happened.   How can it be disputed.

As you know, if we don’t recognize that we are in a spiritual war, we will be enslaved by all kinds of things. Paul said we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers…Satan wants to steal our testimony! This world may say, they don’t believe in Christ, but when we say, what the Lord has done to us – they have no choice but to listen.

We will come back to this topic again, because the list doesn’t end here… I am writing this, so that I can read it myself… the Lord has hidden treasures in the word of God and we will explore all of them and cherish them…

Finally, let me encourage you – with the verses from Isaiah 59:19, it says,

“So shall they fear The name of the Lord from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.”

In another translation, it says, the Lord will up His banner against the enemy. Today morning, I am not sure what you are going through in your life, but my prayer is that the Lord will raise the banner against the enemy.   When all said and done, we need to become the victorious church Jesus died for! AMEN! We need to source our strength through Christ who went to the Calvary…

We need to tell our soul that, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!”        Amen and Amen!
