The greatest challenge facing “American evangelicals” is not persecution…

Dear Saints of the Living God – Grace and Mercy to you and your family!

This morning, I don’t want to go into the presence of the Lord casually, if there an arrogance or self-reliance that stands before me and God – i want to leave them behind.   let us come before the Father with reverence.   If there is an idols in our lives that needs to tear down, we want the Lord to break and separate us from the strongholds….

At this very moment, Millions of angels that worshiping Him, and the elders that are bowing down… for He is the King, that is sitting on the Throne… listening to every cry, listening to every need and Mightier than anything that we can imagine, and His Glory is un-explainable…  Ah, what a Mighty God, we serve…

There is some reality about our life that is explained in 2 Samuel, where we all are bound to die… there is a natural process aligned to it, if that is the norm, then we don’t need God, right?   Let’s look at –

2 Samuel 14:14 says,

“All of us must die eventually. Our lives are like water spilled out on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. “

We are like water, that is spilled – and there is no recovery… God could have just let us die there … if only this verse ended right here, instead the verses continues to say – “But God…”

“But God does not just sweep life away; instead, he devises ways to bring us back when we have been separated from him.”

That’s right, He has every right to sit on that judgement throne and let us die, and not provide an alternate, But God… steps into our lives and devises ways to rescue us to spend the eternity with HIM.  What bothers me the most and I am extremely guilty of this as well – that we treat “this God” and “His word” like a Rug, But God..

Look at the history, when the children of Israel started glorifying themselves and ignored God – the presence of the Lord moved on… and their prayers were not answered and the protection leaves them… then God sees their plight and His heart moves with compassion, and He devises ways every single time to restore their lives…

Charles Spurgeon once said, “I believe that one reason why the church of God at this present moment has so little influence over the world is because the world has so much influence over the church.”

Ah man, We are no different than the world… we cannot tell where the world ends and the church begins…

we are just as materialist and self-centered as the world.  We become lovers of this world.   You might say, Ah huh… we are not like that, we are praying and going to church and so on… here is an example, how many of us have facebook page, and what are we doing?   we seek after the self-glorifying act by throwing stuff about us  and we are looking for people to “like” us, But God…

There is a book called “Worldliness” by C J Mahaney, and in that he says,

“Today, the greatest challenge facing American evangelicals is not persecution from the world, but seduction by the world.”

Absolutely true… if you get a chance please read 2 Timothy chapter 3…  and see, how close we are to the same reality that the children of Israel were marching towards, But God…

Let us pray this morning, for the Lord to open our spiritual eyes – so that we can get into the ways, the Lord has devised for each and every one of our lives… The enemy continues to lie to us, so that he can keep us from finding “this way”, the Lord has created.

We have to stop becoming casual in our prayer life, we need to draw near to Him, to understand His ways…  if we don’t humble ourselves before the Lord – we will miss the street that we need to turn.   We should look different… our lives should demand the world to be attracted to us.   The world needs what we have…

God, Help us to leave any of the self-glorifying act and reverse our lives to Glorify You and Your Kingdom. God, there is no one who could love us like you… Not because of anything that we have done, but because of your Son… who died on that Rugged Cross… God, Help us to understand Your Holiness… We worship you, and adore you – in Jesus name, we pray…
