The size of your vision determines, the size of our Jericho! (Part 2)

Dear Saints of the Living God – Grace and Mercy to you and your family!

It is an amazing day, everywhere we turn, there are news about revival, and out breaking of the Holy Spirit in the lives of men and women who comes to the Lord in large numbers.  And it is such a blessing to see that in our life time.

With that said, let us go to Joshua 5:15,  where Joshua is about to enter the promised land, and the Angel of the Lord, appears before him and says,

“Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.”

“Take your sandal off your foot”

The Lord never would want us take the walls of Jericho, with our own strength, and that’s why he is asking Joshua to remove his sandals.  It is out of reverence for the place, where Joshua is standing.

Often, when we are faced with challenge or ready to take down the walls of Jericho – our temptation is to use our strength.    I had a chance to talk to my good friend, Pastor Tony – and I was telling him, how I really don’t want to figure out how efficiently run the ministry, instead have the groaning in my stomach and ask God to show up…

Look at what happened to Peter and his friends, when they threw the net on the other side of the boat… these are professional fisherman, they knew every inch of that river, but still when they obeyed, the Lord never let them down.

Stand on His promises, as go after your Jericho… I am not sure what you are going through this morning, but when we turn the control back to the Lord, instead of driving with our strength, the walls of our Jericho will start to come crumbling down.

“the place where you stand is holy”

You see, we all have past, and probably filled with hurdles and challenges – and some turned out to be good and others had challenges and didn’t end well.   And here is Joshua, who has been with Moses and the children of Israel for over 40+ years, and seen the up’s and down’s during their Exodus from Egypt.

  • From the murmuring and complaint to the Manna from heaven.
  • Joshua is one of the 2, who has seen both the red sea split and jordan river from flowing.
  • Joshua has been to the promised land, and knows the lay of the land.

And after all this,  Joshua is now standing in front of Jericho… the same way,  after everything that you have gone through in your life, the Lord is saying – the place where you are standing (it is not the geographic location), but the place where you stand in this life – is a holy ground.

Over the weekend, we were serving in Perry Correctional, and there was a man, who was crying and washing his children’s feet – and with all his agony,  he got down and kissed his son’s feet.

You know why?   He is serving time for killing his wife and that’s why it was so intense.    The place where he is in this present time, is the holy ground.  He is bringing His God in the midst of his challenge.

He knows, that his Jericho is much bigger than what he can do to bring it down.

God is not interested in our past, just like this man – but instead use them as foundation to build our future. That’s why the bible say, the gates of hell cannot prevail…

It doesn’t matter how tall or how wide, your Jericho is,  when the presence of the Holy God descends, they will all come crumbling down.   Remove your sandals today, and stand on His promises…

May the Good Lord bless you and your family!
